The Butala Project is a collection of short films about the culture of the Lala people in rural Zambia, made in cooperation between Dutch and Lala filmmakers.
The intention of the project is to contribute to the preservation of people's cultural identity and to empower people to establish their own media culture. We try to achieve this by conducting an extensive research and by providing the necessary knowledge to make films. I assisted two local film teams in Chibale, Serenje district, as a junior teacher of the Utrecht School of Arts.
